It's Official: Lewis Signs LOI

A one time PAC-12 commit and still highly regarded recruit has made it official and signed his letter of intent (LOI) to play hoops for UTSA this fall.

Larry Lewis, a quick footed scoring combo guard, sent in his LOI to UTSA this evening. His signature makes it two UTSA signees for the 2013 class so far. Luke Wilshire (SA Johnson), a 6'5" 195lb SG/SF signed during the early signing period in November.

Larry, a 6'2" 190lb combo guard, has been committed to the UTSA program for over two months now, making his decision public on February 1st. He had this to say when we caught up with him earlier tonight.

"The feeling is unforgettable and unbelievable at the same time. It's something I've been waiting for a long time. A year ago I had no idea if I was even going to play college basketball. Just an incredible feeling," said Lewis.

UTSA coaches haven't specified to Lewis if he'll play a specific position. Lewis just wants the opportunity to come in and contribute. Whether he's asked to be a floor general and facilitate or to use his quick first step and jump shot to score.

Now he can look forward to getting to campus this summer and get to know more of the place that he really liked.

"When I went out there for a visit, I really felt at home. I loved the environment and the fans were great."

Lewis will be joining us live on our IRS Radio Hour Thursday night to talk more in detail about being the newest addition to the UTSA hoops family. Be sure to check the site for the link and listen in. We start tomorrow at 7pm. Recommended Stories
