Speed For Both Track & Football

Speed For Both Track & Football

This past week we brought you two athletes from the Coastal Bend who are getting plenty of D1 looks. One a target for UTSA and the other a top prospect. Add 1 more to the list and this one is the fastest of the group.

The word is the 'Runners are looking to take one WR this class. Brandon Colon of Los Fresnos currently holds an offer, but a name to watch out for is Terrance Robinson of Ingleside HS. Our staff posted about the Coastal Bend speedster on Friday of last week in the UTSAInsiders forum.

Robinson is a 6'2" 180lb prospect who has speed to burn. Earlier this year he timed at a 4.37 in the 40. Just this weekend he placed 3rd in the State Meet (3A) with a 400 meter time of 48.23.

He became the go to WR for Ingleside and nearly had 600 yards receiving last season, 400 of those in the playoffs. He missed half of the season with a minor fracture in his wrist. In his return for the playoffs he was simply dominating in three games.

Not only can he get it done on offense, but Robinson has the athleticism to play "D". He starts for Ingleside at corner too.

UT, Texas Tech, Rice, Texas State, UTEP, A&M-Kingsville and UTSA have all stopped by or reached out to Terrance. Some programs are recruiting him for football, while others track and there's been mention of him doing both in college.

"I've been getting a lot of letters from the UTSA staff. UTSA does stand out because it's close to home and a lot of my buddies are going there," said Robinson.

Terrance did say something interesting. He's really looking into pursuing a dual scholarship for track and football. So the program that offers him an option for both could have a leg up.

It's in the family. Robinson and Christian Britt are cousins. Britt made the drive to Austin for this weekend's state track meet in support of his cousin, Robinson.
