Plenty of Speed For This RB

We've heard it before, you can only replace what you lose. The 'Runners have 8 RB's on scholarship: 1 senior and 3 juniors who make up half of the group. So the question is, will the staff take one? This Beaumont West Brook prospect is one of the backs being evaluated.

Contact has been good and frequent for Justin Hervey, the 5'9' 180lb running back from Westbrook High School. He currently has 3 offers: Houston, Texas State and Southeast Louisiana. A boat load of other programs have been showing moderate to strong interest, and one of those is UTSA.

"UTSA has been sending me letters often. Them, Tulsa, and Utah have been sending me the most letters. The coaching staff has been doing a great job of staying in contact with me. Talking to me about the academics and getting to know them," said Hervey.

Utah, UCLA, Arizona, Oregon State, Tulsa, Boise State and Iowa State are just some of the other programs who have shown interest and been in contact.

Hervey hasn't had the chance to set foot on the UTSA campus or make it to a camp, but he's intrigued that the 'Runners are showing interest.

"They sent me a letter before spring ball. I haven't been able to meet the coaching staff, but I would love too. I wouldn't mind going there. Playing college football is a big goal for me. It's another level I'm trying to accomplish. I like their conference (C-USA). I like what they bring to the field and how they play the game," said Hervey.

As a back, Hervey has good vision, can hit the hole and accelerate. Recently at TCU and Houston camps, he was timed running a blazing 4.4 flat 40 time.

He ended his junior campaign shy of a 1,000 yard season with 958 yards and scoring 16 touchdowns. He was voted 1st Team All District 21-5A.
