TE Still High On The Board

TE Still High On The Board

UTSA is still in search of a tight end for this class. After not taking one last cycle, the coaching staff is aiming to at least add one prospect at the position.

One name that we mentioned early on as a candidate for an offer is Steele's Matt Moen. The 6'3" 233lb pass catching tight end is still hearing from the 'Runners and now has other options as well.

The coaching staff is telling Moen that he's still one of their top TE guys on the board, to be patient, and get to camp. Moen did confirm that he will be on hand Thursday at the Dome for the UTSA camp along with at least 3 other Steele teammates: Matthew Simmons, Carl Cunningham and D'Angelo Wallace.

Since we last spoke with Moen, he has picked up 4 offers. Nevada, Harvard, New Mexico State and Incarnate Word have all extended. UTSA and Texas State are two programs that are staying in contact and remain interested.

So far during the summer Moen has gained a few pounds and is doing what he can to be ready for his senior year. Three times a week he's hitting up Athletic Republic and lifting weights every day. He's working on a little bit of everything. Getting bigger, stronger and faster.

Earlier this spring and summer, Moen was able to make some rounds and attended camps at Harvard, Princeton, Air Force and Stanford. He went from east coast to west coast. He also attended UTSA's junior day.

Matthew did not list any favorites at the moment, but did mention that an offer from UTSA would have them squarely in the mix.
