IRS Practice Report 8.6.13 w/Video

On Tuesday, UTSA held its second practice of the fall at Dub Farris Stadium.

UTSA football began it preparations for the 2013 season on Monday. On Tuesday, media were allowed to view all of the practice. Here is our coverage:

ANALYSIS

Larry Coker has gotten into the habit of practicing extremely fast. That was on full display on Tuesday evening as the coaching staff ran a quick, well-organized 2.5 hour practice session.

Most of the work on the day consisted of individual practice drills. Offensively, the team worked on basic sets: runs between the tackles, screen plays, etc. Defensively, the squad focused on position techniques.

In the middle of the practice we observed some special teams action, specifically kick off returns.

Toward the end of practice, the offense and defensive squared off against each other in a mini scrimmage. All of the players on the depth chart got some time as most of the sets were basic in nature.

UTSA practiced without pads on Tuesday, and will continue to do so until later in the week. On Saturday, UTSA will begin two-a-day work outs.
