Granado Gearing Up

Just like on the hardwood, big men on the gridiron are at a premium. This Juco offensive tackle already has 2 offers with more programs starting to pick up interest.

Dominic Granado is a 6'5" 280lb offensive tackle who is looking for more offers as his tape and game evaluations start to get out. In their season opener, he helped lead Golden West JC to a victory over the College of The Canyons.

On top of starting the season, recruiting interest is ramping up. The UTSA staff just reached out to Granado last week.

"They (UTSA) told me that they'll be offering 1 juco offensive tackle this year and I'm one of the guys they're recruiting," said Granado.

Granado is originally from the California area, so there's no surprise that the UTSA program is kind of new to him.

"I've heard of UTSA, but last week was the first time I talked to them. I haven't really learned anything yet. I looked at their facilities on-line and they have brand new stuff. I saw the new lockers. I was talking to some of my teammates who played high school football in Texas, and they said there's nothing like football in Texas at any level," said Granado.

As for offers, Granado does have two already: Arkansas State and Sacramento State. Over the summer Cal showed interest and he took an unofficial to Berkley. Along with the 'Runners, Georgia State, Washington State, Boise State, Colorado State and Arizona State are just some showing interest.

In his latest talk with the UTSA staff, there wasn't detailed talk of an offer, but Granado would like to see more.

"If they (UTSA) showed more interest, I'd be willing to set up a visit," said Granado.

Wherever he lands, he'll have 3 years to play 2 and brings some much needed versatility where he can play both tackle spots if needed. Granado will be a May transfer.

His lean frame and agility for a big man excel in pass blocking and he'll get out in front on sweeps and tosses when running the ball.

Granado will remain patient and get a better gauge as the season goes on to see what schools are legitimately interested, but may already be giving a slight hint on what he'd like to do.

"I would really like to play in the PAC 12, but right now I'm leaning towards Arkansas State," said Granado.
