UTSA Falls to Marshall, 34-10

Marshall jumped out to an early lead they would never surrender.

Two first quarter interceptions on tipped passes lead to three early scores for the Thundering Herd as UTSA fell to Marshall 34-10 on Saturday.

Before the blink of an eye, the ‘Runners were down 17-0. From then on, it was tough going for UTSA as they struggled to find any consistency on either side of the ball.

Marshall, meanwhile, was able to move the ball up and down the field and capitalize on opportunites. The Thundering Herd amassed 404 yards of total offense.

But the story of the game was the UTSA offense's inability to consistently gain any momentum. While the ‘Runners did have several chances to score, there was no consistent flow.

UTSA totaled just 254 yards of offense. QB Eric Soza finished the game just 10 for 26 passing with three interceptions.

After starting the game off slow, the Hard Hat Defense found some momentum midway through the game and began making stops. But in the end, the Marshall offense was too tough to stop.

LB Steven Kurfehs led the way with 10 tackles for the defense while Codie Brooks and Robert Singletary recorded two sacks each.

UTSA returns to Alamodome on Saturday to host Rice.
