Week 6 Game Balls

Week 6 Game Balls

UTSA fought hard as a team on Saturday but two players stood above the rest and earn our Week 6 Game Balls.

Our InsideRunnerSports staff hands out our game balls for exceptional performances on Saturday.

Co-Game Balls: Defense Ends Codie Brooks and Robert Singletary
Defensive End Codie Brooks returned to the line up on Saturday after missing the Houston game with an injury. So far in 2013, Brooks has been a refreshing surprise for the defensive line.

Against Marshall, Brooks got the start and made the most of it by recording 5 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. It was the best performance the redshirt freshman has had as a Roadrunner.

Starting opposite of Brooks was Robert Singletary, the transfer from Baylor. After sitting out all of 2012 due to transfer rules, Singletary also had a very productive game for the Hard Hat Defense.

Singletary recorded 7 tackles, 2 sacks, and forced the fumble that Brooks recorded. Singletary's performance was also the most productive of his career as a Roadrunner.

Both Brooks' and Singletary's play come as a welcome surprise to the defensive end position.

Note: We did not award any offensive game balls this week.
