One day after attending UTSA
's Junior Day, Atascocita wide receiver Tre Hamilton
committed to UTSA on Sunday.
"I wasn't ready to commit yesterday," said Hamilton. "But after talking about it with my parents and thinking about it over night, I decided UTSA was the best place for me."
So on Sunday afternoon, Hamilton made it official.
"I messaged UTSA and told them I was ready to commit, that I wanted to be a Roadrunner," said Hamilton.
One of the things that stood out to Hamilton was the impression UTSA made on him on Saturday.
"Everybody was so family-based," said Hamilton. "Family is what I like. Everyone made me feel welcomed."
Hamilton also said that he liked UTSA's campus.
"Everything was really nice and impressive," said Hamilton. "They showed us the weight room and talked about some additions they're making. Just overall, the campus was really nice."
At 6'4" and 197lbs, Hamilton is a tall and lengthy receiver. With 4.5-speed, he possesses the skillset UTSA was looking for in a wide out. Last season, Hamilton pulled in over 40 receptions for over 400 yards.
Hamilton is the teammate and close friend to current commit Furquan Shorts.
"It feels great, I get to play in college with my best friend," said Hamilton.
Hamilton is the third commitment to the 2015 recruiting class:
- Commit #1: Furquan Shorts WR 6'2" 190lbs Atascocita HS
- Commit #2: D'Anthony Hopkins RB 6'2" 220lbs Cuero HS
- Commit #3: Tre Hamilton WR 6'4" 197lbs Atascocita HS
