DB Target Getting Big Offers

DB Target Getting Big Offers

One of UTSA's first offers to go out for the 2015 class is this Houston DB. Since then, schools from the PAC 12, Big XII and Mountain West have offered too.

Over the last couple of weeks, Alief Taylor's Kenneth McGruder has picked up some more offers pushing his total to seven. Oregon State, Iowa State, and Boise State have all ponied up recently and are after the 6'1" 190lb defensive prospect.

He's surely to pick up more offers later this spring and summer. Cal, TCU, and Michigan State have all been in contact letting him know they'll be by and an offer could be on the way.

"They say I'm big, I actually gained a few pounds, I'm at 209lbs now. I can also move, I got speed behind it," said McGruder.

Most programs after him are recruiting him specifically to keep him in the defensive backfield at a safety position and use his 4.5 speed in the secondary.

UTSA was one of the first schools to offer Kenneth and the staff has been staying in contact.

"When UTSA came to offer, it was early-early one morning. I didn't get to see them. They talk to my coaches a lot. Coach Eliano is going to visit me later this spring," said McGruder.

No doubt the 'Runners have their work cut out for them, but McGruder is keeping things open and looking at all comers.

"I'm just weighing my options. I'm just looking for whoever is going to give me the opportunity to play on the field. I know I'm going to have to work for it. The opportunity to play, the coaches be straight up with me. So I can work at it and get better. I want to go to a college, where I know I can get drafted."
