Teammates Set to Visit

This Saturday will be UTSA's first practice for fall camp and InsideRunnerSports has learned of a handful of recruits who will be on campus, including these two targets who are high school teammates.

Kerry Walker

The 6'3" 220lb DE/LB will be making the three hour drive down to UTSA on Saturday to get a first hand glimpse of the 'Runners as he nears making a decision within the next month. The 'Runners are currently in his Top 3 with, Texas State and Northern Illinois as the other two schools. Here's what he told IRS.

"Recruiting is going great. The schools standing out are, UTSA, Texas State, Northern Illinois. I visited UTSA before and I felt like I was at home when I went to the campus. I really liked it," said Walker.

It's unknown whether a decision could come after the visit for Walker, but he told IRS that he's just up for anything and will see how the visit goes.

UTSA hasn't told him what specific position they are recruiting him for, but right now it sounds like he'll have his choice of either D-End of LB.

He reiterated that he will make a decision before the season starts for him.Diamon Cannon

Teammate and good friend Diamon Cannon is also visiting Roadrunner Country. The staff has been on him as well trying to get him down for a visit and it's finally happening.

"I'm looking forward to it. The staff is saying I'll be a good fit and they've been trying to get me down there," said Cannon.

The staff likes him at the LB spot, but Diamon just wants to be at a spot where he can have the chance to see the field. At 6'2" 215lbs, with 4.6 speed, Cannon is an athlete who can play sideline to sideline and has the frame to even get stronger and bigger.

He too plans on making a decision within the next 3-4 four weeks. While Walker is up for anything, Cannon is saying that he doesn't plan on making a decision Saturday. He wants to weigh his options, do his homework on his top schools and then make his decision soon after.

Diamon's Top 3 are also UTSA and Texas State. With North Texas being the third Texas school that is standing out for him.

Something very important to note, both Walker and Cannon are planning on sticking together at the next level. That could bode very well for UTSA or or any of the schools they're looking at. Safeties Coach Perry Eliano is the lead recruiter for both.
